First of all they released this new and separate app and “turned off” the old app without any sort of messaging in the old app that the new app exists, just generic messages about the service being unavailable. I missed an opportunity to charge because of this. Secondly, they force you to add $20 in “Blink Cash” to your account in order to use the service, even if the charger in question is free. This is a garbage business practice that needs to end.
Whomever “fixed” the chargers, made them worse actually. At least the ones I use. They now charge 0.03 cents PER 30 SECONDS for charging, and 0.02 PER 30 SECONDS JUST TO PARK instead of kWh. I work 12 hour nights, and for one charge it costs almost $20 parking for THREE hours. It used to cost 0.39 cents per kWh with FREE parking as it states on the PlugShare app. I spent over $30 one night!!! This is not okay and probably not too far off from false advertising. I’d like my money back. All of it. For the inconvenience, misleading information, and having to miss work going out to my car to unplug it so I don’t spend an arm and a leg. This will be escalated to the company. Chargers, beware!!!!
GARBAGE APP I JUST WANTED TO BE NICE AND CHARGE MY FRIENDS CAR BUT WHOOPTY DOO I GOTTA BUY THEIR STUPID CARD AND NO WHERE LETS ME BUY STRAIGHT FROM MY CARD. JUST LET ME BUY RN AND ALSO THE QR CODE I SCAN TAKES ME TO A BROKEN WEBPAGE. NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL GARBAGE APP TRASH.
This charging system is a mess! It’s never worked correctly! It doesn’t recognize charge card. Complete disaster! Do yourself a favor and find another charger! I’m convinced a hamster, attached to a wheel would work better than this app!
