I’ve wasted so many minutes of my life watching that little spinning circle while I wait for then video image to load. Typically to check in on my daughter it takes me two or three tries of opening and re-opening the app, as it never connects on the first try. The fact that it exists but works so poorly makes it even worse. save yourself the frustration… having a baby is hard enough!
Here's a great app idea: integrate multiple telemetry devices and surveillance multimedia into a single screen. Sounds great? Here's the kicker - make it so that a popup makes it impossible to see the plethora of graphs and intel on the display until the user it's an "ok" button. For even more punch, make that popup display something completely useless and maybe even reiterate what the hidden data says, but in a much, much less informative way. This way, the user cannot make use of their time away from their baby because they'll constantly be fighting you! Genius, right? Oh, you should also make it so it makes the video is as small as possible on Mobile pro screens, especially for the majority of Mobile pro users who use it in landscape mode. Absolute genius.
I have the owlet cam and use it on my Android. The app is terrible and constantly times out and loses connection even though it’s right down the hall and also right by my router. It is always freezing and I have close out the app multiple times to get it to work almost every time. I constantly have to go down the hall while my baby is sleeping and unplug and re-plug it in. Truly makes me wonder how many times I have missed my baby crying during the night because of how terrible the product is. The app is awful no matter what phone you have and has been nothing but a hassle. Waste of money. Do not buy.
App crashes constantly to the point we had to buy an old school monitor to make sure we can hear our child during the night… Definitely needs work!
I love it and it gives me a peace of mind but only when my baby laying still. If she is in her motion bassinet, it thinks she’s awake. Which when it thinks she’s awake, we can’t even get an accurate idea of her sleep quality. When my baby kicks her feet, I get the alarm to readjust, even though it’s still on. We actually even place a sock over her foot to keep it in place. When she’s in her swing, same thing thinks she’s awake and even if she is still we get the warning to readjust. I get WAY more false alarms with the newest sock than I did the last sock. I liked the last Owlet sock we had with my now 3yr old. The only think I like about this sock is that it gives the readings with movement whereas the old one didn’t. Oh and the Dream Lab tab in the app? What is it because it has never loaded in the 2 months we’ve had the sock.
