I loved playing this game on my laptop a year or so ago. I was hoping they would make it for iOS and now they have, and I’m happy with how it turned out. As someone who studied political history during the breakup of the Former Soviet Republic of Yugoslavia this game plays similarly into the balancing of Ethnic/Religious, Economic, and Foreign Affairs while dealing with an internal regime change.
Cool game. It’s a good way to keep one’s self occupied. Based on my experience I haven’t played a game like this before and because of that I keep playing. The game being slow paced and not so action packed is something that is usually considered boring. Though, that doesn’t matter so much because the game isn’t trying to be(action oriented), unlike other games involving administration I’ve played. It take the time to involve the player in the “unimportant” parts of an administrators life, like spending time with family and balancing personal and work-based relationships. Though I might find some of it boring, it’s realistic and because it is I can respect the time put into it. Along with that the story’s politics, involving conflicts between different political parties, factions, ethnicities, countries, Ideologies, and crime, along with some lore help give the world a bit more immersion. So because it does what it’s mean’t to do and it’s something new(to me) I give it 5 stars.
I can’t believe I love a game that ended with me being hauled off to prison in front of my family but this game was amazing. Incredible writing and world building. On my second playthrough and really going to try to save Sordland this time!
