Too many bugs and limited automation options. I may need to connect a third party app to do some of the automation that was available in the original version, ie. schedule on, dim, off in one automation, schedule whole home off. I have 50+ with lights in my home, it would be helpful to also include multiple rooms in the same automation.
The new app is so terrible. There’s broken code showing and the invite system is not functional. It was a nightmare to reconnect all of my lights even though the original app says you should be able to migrate but that is not the case. Absolute headache. My hue lights are four years old and still work great.
When I upgraded, I lost every custom color I had saved. Including my prized dark red that I had magically found only once and haven’t been able to find since. I like the fact we can enter hex codes, but every time I try a new one it says “this color is not supported.” I love the face the app now has a dark mode, which I’ve wanted for so long. I initially made this review only one star because I was mad about losing the colors, but I changed it to 2 because of the dark mode. I think the new app is great, but please make it known that one will lose all their previously saved controls. (I’m sure it was in the terms and conditions that I skipped.)
In every way. Dev team lead should be fired for rolling this out. Responsiveness is terrible. Couldn’t add lights so I deleted V2 and went back to V1, added lights in less than a minute. You guys should have tested better WAY before rolling this out. Shocking
I “upgraded” to v2 and it has not been a great experience. It’s many more clicks to use my scenes, and on two separate occasions, I’ve had to sign up again because it decided I wasn’t logged in. This feels like a perfect example of a product manager getting rewarded for shipping, something new, without having any thought to the usability of the product. Extremely disappointing.
