I want to enjoy the game, but the production value is pretty low. With such a well-established IP like Lord of the Rings, and EA behind it, neither lack funds to make a great game. There’s no voice acting, no attack/battle grunts, the cutscenes are played out like PowerPoint slides (static characters on each side and a single line of text in the middle). Combat is extremely simplistic, the game actually rewards you for putting battles on Auto. There’s no life to it. Nothing inherently WRONG with the game, just not something I’d expect to have been released in 2023 with the pockets these guys have. Dull and soulless. The IP deserves better.
These developers love making games longer for no reason. Having multiple rounds per battle is ridiculously boring. The animation isn’t bad but the home tavern screen and the characters art style don’t even match. I was super excited for this game but it’s very lack luster and feels cheap for a LOTR game.
This is LITERALLY THE SAME AS THEIR STAR WARS GAME, but with crappy renditions of LOTR characters. Don’t waste your time or money on this garbage.
Game has that 2013 feeling. No strategy whatsoever. Cookie cutter to every other turn based rpg. Was excited by the title, but nothing to see here
