Subscription based payments for an app like this is unethical and absolutely insulting. The fact that they expect $100 a year makes it a 100% certainty that I would never use or suggest this app to my students who struggle with reading. This entire text to speech app industry is just another sector that is taking advantage of learning disabilities for profit. This is gross and absolutely an unethical company.
The app does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The voices that your subscription pays for are mediocre in terms of how the voices emphasize words, and how they sound. There isn’t much of a wide variety of voices. I wish the app would make a dark mode. When I want to follow along with the text-speech at night, or in a non-lit area, I would prefer a dark screen so that my eyes hurt less. (there’s a possibility that I didn’t study the app well enough to find any setting for dark-mode) But there doesn’t appear to be any setting for it
I was impressed with the scanning ability and how accurate it was. The different voices are great too. Pretty natural sounding for computer generated text to voice.
