This app is epic, Google Store art apps wouldn’t be complete without it!
I held off on writing a review for awhile. Wanted to get the full experience of Nomad Sculpt. I’ve worked with Zbrush before so I came in with some sculpting experience. I have to say, I am in awe of this app. The power this program has to exist on an Mobile is insane. I don’t get to sit down and work a lot, so I’m a big fan of procreate and the likes. This app is exactly what I’ve been dreaming of. Now of course there are it’s bugs and glitches and sometimes it’ll crash. But it’s running on an Mobile, and that is a truly impressive feat. I work zbrush on my custom built computer, and after an hour it sounds like its going to take off. I can work hours on this app and the only thing stopping me is the Mobile battery life. The app is gigantic, and needs a fair amount of storage but honestly, not as much as I thought for an app this powerful. If you’re a experienced sculptor or just wanting to start out, spend the money. Seriously, it’s worth it. I am excited to see how Nomad grows in the next few months. Seriously impressive, I cannot rave enough.
This is a truly-amazing 3D modeling app at an absolutely-affordable and worthy price. It is definitely priced, actually cheap - and it is *not* a subscription. This runs circles around Forger (Which used to be a great app, it still is good; however Maxon purchased this app/company and is the new owner and packaged under their subscription plans…not for me). …Nomad Sculpt is a ridiculously capable 3D modeling app, with consistent and constant updates, improvements and new features. I know it’s been said many times in other reviews for this app - But this is definitely the leading 3D Modeling (Mainly for Sculpting-type modeling, not parametric) and is by far the closest you’ll get to using ZBrush on your Mobile (works SO well with the Google Pencil 2 on an Mobile Pro). I don’t say this much or even review much, but this app is worth it - If I could add a 6th star rating to this, I would - it is that good. My only constructive criticism for the developer would be: When I thought about, and finally ended up just purchasing the app - it was based solely off of the trust of the reviews. …I would *much* rather have been able to try a free-trial (even just short time-limited) so I could see what I was actually buying. I would offer the basic app in mainly a trial-format so people can just see what the app can do (even disable saving/exporting…whatever). Any user that is even the slightest interested in this type of app will be blown-away and if they were even thinking about buying, the demo would definitely tip the scale and make them hit that “Unlock Full Version” button - which would just be a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks it into the full app that it is now…but please, just offer a demo and I think your user base will grow dramatically. Just a thought (and my thoughts when almost *not*-purchasing because of there being no trial app available).
Anytime I speak to other artists or hobbyists about Nomad Sculpt I end up sounding like a salesperson. If you have previous experience with sculpting software Nomad Sculpt is incredibly easy to pick up and experiment with. If you do not have said experience however, there are plenty of easy-to-follow tutorials out there to get you started. Of course Nomad Sculpt is not as robust as your expensive full-blown sculpting programs but for the price you pay you're getting an incredible value and I've personally made and seen pieces that rival anything made on your typical PC/laptop software. The versatility and power of what Nomad Sculpt can do are the highlights for me (on a recent Mobile Pro.) Currently I'd say the material painting would be the least intuitive part of this lovely program. Recent updates to other features are encouraging that hopefully soon smarter methods of material painting will come online. The absolute best reason to love Nomad Sculpt is that it allows me to casually create art on my couch while passively watching stuff. That kind of convenience simply cannot be beat and has exponentially increased my personal art production and creativity.
Great for 3d modeling
