if theres a firmware update for a device thats offline, it locks the app down and it’s totally unusable. folks, put a dismiss button on your error messages. this isn’t hard. also, add a remind later or dismiss button on firmware updates too. this is day 1 uat stuff, there’s no excuse.
let me update the firmware, then told me not connect to wifi!!! And, there is not way out the screen. The app become trash…..
I changed WiFi networks and now it stopped working. I get a message about my unit requiring a firmware update and get stuck in a loop since it is not online and the app cannot properly handle an error condition and just locks up. Hope I don’t have to return this to Costco.
The app has a fatal flaw I’ve discovered that is hilariously overlooked somehow. Once a device needs a firmware update, if you can’t (or just don’t want to bother with it) complete that firmware update for some reason, then the app is completely worthless. Just delete it. It won’t let you off the nag screen to update the firmware. So if the wifi ever stops working on ONE of my machines then it kills the app for ALL my machines. What a stupid thing to overlook. This is why people are sick of smart devices that are implemented by people that are anything but.
The air purifier requires a firmware update and also requires my phone and air purifier to be connected to the WiFi. Phone is connected to the WiFi but the purifier is not, the app doesn’t recognize the phone’s WiFi connection. Then the firmware update pop-up bricks the app, locking you out of any setting changes, locking you out of connecting the purifier to the WiFi or even a help menu. So it just flashes lights. Many irritating lights when it could work correctly if only the app did.
