So far the app has been working justs fine .
I love working on the lessons. They function like little language puzzles. And they help me figure out the rules of the language without dull grammar explanations. Really enjoyable.
The fact is that Rosetta Stone is not a perfect learning system and the app itself is a little on the clunky side. However, when compared to other methods (besides, say, taking a university class) it really remains the best personal learning tool. I have been using Rosetta Stone for 15 years and it does what exactly what I need it to do: teaches me new vocabulary, keep my grammar sharp, and allows me to explore new languages when I have downtime. There are, of course, other options, such as Duolingo, but I find the others sometimes have errors which need reporting, and they do not always teach formal language. To date, I have never found an error on Rosetta Stone, and they teach you how to speak formally, rather than how to simply pretend you are a native speaker. Overall, I think it is the best choice for anyone who either (a) wants to formally learn a new language or (b) anyone who knows a second or third language and wants to keep it in practice.
This is the best program I did. It has good amount of words that can be used in defferent situations. You work with them from different viewpoints: pronunciation, grammar, reading, listening to etc., and by doing this, you improve your ability to use the language.
Does the Rosetta Stone company think that I have the eyes of a hawk or an eagle? I'm not the Bionic Man, my eyes do NOT magnify. I upgraded to the all languages for life plan because I bought a laptop with a bigger screen and couldn't read the FURIGANA (Kanji with Hiragana character above it) but not only does it NOT have furigana (like the original CD-ROM program I paid almost $600 for) but having a bigger screen did not help. IN FACT, the letters and characters ARE SMALLER THAN ON THE ORIGINAL PROGRAM. Not only that, but there is no ability to enlage the view. I subtracted 2 stars specifically because of this. Things like that, I do not take lightly and nor do I forgive. EITHER MAKE IT SO I CAN ENLARGE THE CHARACTERS SO I DON'T DAMAGE MY EYES BY HAVING TO SQUINT TO READ THEM or just plain make the character significangtly larger so nobody complains about having to squint to read. I tried other languges than Japanese as well, Arabic, Farsi, Russian, and Mandarin, and you know what?? Your character font size on THOSE languages sucked even worse. So basically, I upgraded for NOTHING. Fix it or I will never forgive you people.
