New York Public Library (NYPL) for Android

The app works for most of what I need it to, with two caveats: 1) it doesn’t function at all on the WiFi at my work 2) it’s somewhat slow to load

Love having the app on my phone for easy access without having to log on to the website and it looks nice enough, but doing anything takes sooooo long (searching the catalog, requesting a hold, loading your holds/checkouts)—I spend more time looking at the spinner than anything else. I usually end up just using the website on my phone’s browser because, even with the extra step of logging in, it’s faster. If they could fix the slowness issues, the app would be great!

I can’t really review the app itself because it won’t recognize my bar code/password, even after resetting.

I’m not picky. They had an app years ago and then deleted it for some reason. Now there’s an app again. I can put books on hold from my phone again, that’s all I wanted.

Every time I search the catalog and select a book from that results list, the app immediately crashes. I have not ever successfully completed a book search in the app. Please fix these issues! I love the NYPL and BPL, and look forward to hopefully checking out a book successfully with the app someday. 📚💚
