Overall a pretty good app. I was looking for an alternative to stitch fiddle that I could use with my Mobile. I love the ability to make my own pallets so I can use colors I already have. Some things could use improvements though. I'd like to be able to add and remove specific rows and columns. I'd also like a separate tool just for moving parts or the entire pattern around. I know you can move things with what's already there but it can be finicky. A separate tool dedicated just to moving things would be better especially when using an Google Pencil. The price really is unbeatable since it's a one time purchase and the stitch fiddle subscription kept going up every year and didn't work well on my Mobile.
I found this app while trying to figure out how to make a needle point of a friend’s dog. This app is great! However, the limit of so few pallet options has made it difficult to transfer any of the pallet choices to a local (US) wool seller. If I could suggest the addition of DMC Tapestry Wool it would be great! I love working with this app and I’m looking forward to my new project.
I love Stitchly! I do wish this app could include is the ability to crop images or patterns to circles/ovals so that they can fit into various embroidery hoops. Another is the ability to retain more colors in one part of the image but not in another; sometimes you lose important details when decreasing the amount of colors, but it’s fine for other parts of the image to lose that resolution. The main way around that is to max out the colors but then manually remove the ones that aren’t as important, which can be time-consuming. Otherwise love it, use it all the time.
I very much want to like this app, and consider myself a fairly savvy person. All I want to do is use the app to make and space out text properly. But for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to re-select the text box after I have navigated away from it to edit it again. I need to re-size and re-position the text box, but when I use the selection tool, I am just adding annoying dots to the pattern. I need 2 sizes of text (quote in larger text, name of author in smaller) and just can’t get it right. I would also love a small library of tiny shapes like skulls, nuclear signs and bunnies so I don’t have to “draw” them. I can still use most of the text here, but I’ll need to consult a book or the web for a pattern for the shapes and manually position them myself.
I love making patterns on this app! I spent about 40 hours on the free version and even more now that I bought the full version. Definitely saving money on patterns overall too!
