    Neo Cab Reviews

    • You're literally blocked from some dialogue "choices"

I like the concept of this game, similar in some ways to the multiple great Telltale Games series. However, Neo Cab has an "emotion" mechanic and if you're too angry, too happy etc. it literally will block you from some dialogue choices, forcing you with only one "choice" left. This really took me out of the immersion in the story and left me frustrated. Also, the cab review rating system is really screwy. I had all 5-star passenger reviews, got one 1-star review and it dropped my overall driver rating from 5 to 2.6 stars. What??? Another time the passenger seemed to leave happy, but randomly gave me 3-stars which again severely dropped my overall rating. (The game says if you're below 4.0 you'll get fired.). These mechanics ultimately were too much for me to overlook.

    • Truly Amazing

„Neo Cab“ May not look like a lot from the outside, but everything from the story, art, characters, and 3D modeling is phenomenal. This game was able to connect with events happening now, even though it is set far in the future. Also, you just gotta love Oona the quantum witch <3

    • So Close to Being an Incredible Game

I have complicated feelings about this game. First, the gameplay is very fun, the interfaces are visually pleasing and easy to navigate. The writing is incredible and the story compelling. The writers clearly had interesting and important things to say, and this game was a clever way to explore some of those ideas. However, throughout the experience, I always had the feeling of being backed into a corner and not actually having the opportunity to make meaningful choices. I don’t mean that the game should even give you more options necessarily, but because of the ‘emotions’ system in the game, often times the only good dialogue choices are not actually available to you. When you try to select them, the game tells you your character won’t or can’t say them. This is detrimental because almost all of the locked dialogue choices, at least in my experience, were the profound political statements, opportunities to take a stance on pretty much anything (the game wants your character to be a centrist basically), and standing up to your “best friend” in the game who - from my read - is this cruel and manipulative person you’re supposed to adore and let walk all over you. It was unpleasant to come away from such a fun, clever, thought-provoking game with a bitter taste in my mouth because the ending I was forced into had no teeth and nothing ultimately that interesting to say or satisfying to experience, and with my character in this toxic, mutually destructive relationship I repeatedly tried to abandon. I’m left feeling bummed out and kind of at a loss for why this was the outcome the writers wanted players to experience. That said, it’s still a very cool game and I would recommend it to anyone who reads this far…

    • Wish there was more

While I loved playing the game and I was addicted to it while it lasted, I wish there was more after it was over. Like other chapters afterwards. I wanna keep playing but I don’t wanna play the same one over and over. Please make it longer or add more to it after its over

    • Amazing potential, horrible gameplay

I started this game loving it. I still really like it, which is why it got one extra star. But the story progression mechanics are awful. It had such potential, but fell so short. I like unlocking new options with mood, but hate that it blocks others. The whole game is about progressing the story different ways via manipulating your mood with conversation choices, but you can’t. Once you get into a certain moodlet, it locks you in. It destroys everything that you work for. I misclicked once and it got me switched from red into blue, and I couldn’t get out. I couldn’t progress the argument, and the whole game ended with me completely forgiving Savvy for everything, the opposite of what I wanted. The characters were so great to, and I hated that there was nothing I could do to interact in the way they were, or I hope, supposed to be interacted with. Beautiful character and depth, amazing story, disappointing results. Very well crafted for the most part, definitely not gonna let this game put me off of others from the team, but it was disappointing.
