“Plug in your ONF light, connect it with the app before the blue indicator light stops flashing” THOSE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THEIR ENTIRETY! Not only that, the blue indicator light only keeps flashing for about 5 seconds, and the light never shows up in my bluetooth list. AWFUL INTERFACE
The timer simply does not work, unless you open the app and tap on it. Might as well do it manually. Seems like this app is not getting updated… wish I would have read the reviews and gotten a flat nano without app feature.
I would like to address some of the negative reviews as I completely understand why they are frustrated. Yes, it is true the “instruction manual” could use some work as it’s one page in English with 4 steps telling you basically how to plug it into a socket — not super helpful. What they fail to mention is when you are first trying to pair your light with your phone app — you have to click the small magnifying glass in the upper right corner to activate the app to go into “searching” mode. This is not intuitive to Western users as we associate that with searching for words or topics — not activating bluetooth pairing. Also, the issues people have with creating a schedule and not being happy with the inability to change your schedule. etc. can all be easily sorted out by watching the 3 minute video on the ONF website which walks you through the simple process of adding up to 5 different timeframes and light intensity to mimic a solar cycle. After I watched the video it was super simple to set the cycle. Also, on the website they provide a standard example of a cycle starting at 6AMand stopping at 10PM — I used this as my template for setting my 5 stages and it has been great on the two lights I own as of today. I highly recommend this product and love how it hangs on the side of my DOOA Neo glass containers…looks modern and clean and does a great job making the vegetation look very dynamic versus actual sunlight which seems to subdue the colors. Please just watch the video on the site :)
Awful programming. Cannot edit a program after it is written. I am stuck with a 2 hours on on time and cannot change it. These lights with the app are horrible. Tried to unplug the lights and uninstall/ reinstall the app. After pairing the old programs are still present. Can anyone help?
@onf, once I've set my schedule, is there anyway to edit it? Only thing I can think to do is to remove the device, re-pair it, and start all over. Doesn't seem like a great solution though. Please let me know if there's something I'm missing.
