Hipstamatic® for Android

Hi guys, been using Hipstamatic classic since it was first released and also Hipstamatic x since it was first released. It looks like iOS 16 doesn’t agree with Hipstamatic x….photos are not able to be edited. Just letting you know. 👍🏼 other than that I looove the app.

Needed Help-To save “new copies of edited photos” without modifying the original. Please help me to solve this issue/confusion. Note: I regularly update my review/rating for this application.

I love Hipstamatic X, and I loved Hipstamatic before it. As someone who made his bones in the analog camera days, the dirtiness and artifacts that we can bring to the image are fantastic. I've made lens and filter and paper combinations that remind me of papers and processes I used to use, and I will label custom combos to reflect it. I could go on and on. This is one of the photos/photo editing apps that has lasted at least 10 years in my toolbox, unlike many other photo apps which showed their limitations to me much sooner and were cut from rotation. I have *one request* though for the makers. It's the only request I've thought to make and all these years of using their apps. Sometimes I just want to save a photo, after filters have been applied etc., but it's like *five clicks* to simply save it to my camera roll. That's way too many. Is it possible, once we finish editing a photo, to get an option to simply save it directly to our camera roll? To save it and bypass the "next" and "share online" and so on? Really, go through the process and take a look at how many clicks it takes just to save a photo to the camera roll. Oof. Now imagine editing five photos and wanting to save them to the camera roll. That's a whole lot of extra time & clicks that really don't need to be spent! Thanks again for your work!

I’ve been a Hipstamatic user since the classic first appeared over decade ago in the app store. I have embraced every Hipsta-offering (and am still sad the fun, ‘disposable’ app was discontinued). But I digress. Hipstamatic X has 3 big issues that keep me from using it regularly. First, embed the lens combo and other camera settings in the image file. I tag all my Hipsta-images in Lightroom with the film and lens combinations so I can find them easily. Hipsta Original (every iteration) does this no problem and I can see, in the EXIF data in Lr, what combo I used (see the attached screenshot). HipstaX does not provide this info. I have to go to the app on my phone, sort through hundreds of images to find the ones I need to tag, and then jump through a few more hoops to get to the lens and film combo. Please update the app to embed the lens combos! Second, what happened to the dates? I had to delete HipstaX from my Android and reinstall because it kept crashing. I took some pics after reinstalling, only to find that the image dates are now missing. They now all show the date I uploaded them to my computer. Why, when importing to my computer, is the EXIF data no longer providing the date and time the image was taken? And third, why can’t I scroll through my Hipstamatic X images, like every other image viewer, including Hipsta Original? Instead, I must ‘open’ an image to view it, and then I have to close it to view another image. A scrolling image viewer is standard these days. I can’t be the only person driven mad by these three issues. :) I hope you take my feedback under consideration.

Paid for members club and have not seen updates since July. If there’s any add on lenses in the original Hipstamatic we should have it here as well it should be automatic. Wasn't that the reason for paying the membership. I’ve purchased so much lenses on on original app. I love Hipstamatic just want to have the updated lenses here for paid club members.
