After years in the wilderness with unorganized music I can finally group and sort the way I do I do my record collection, by artist. It’s astonishing that Google hasn’t realized that that’s how people sort albums, not by the album title!
Update on July 5, 2022 I have reduced my stars from 5 to 2 here’s why. One of the reasons I loved this app so much is that it kept the album artwork large, however with each update, the artwork is getting smaller and smaller. I have screen prints from a yr or so ago and it was large, now it quite small. I have an Android 11 Pro and half of the screen is filled with the time bar, back and forward arrows, song title and buttons at the bottom. There is too much dead space between all this and causes the artwork to be smaller. There is also no settings to change the size on the bottom half of the player to increase album artwork. As I mentioned I have prior screen captures to prove the artwork use to go edge to edge of your screen now it no longer does. I will agree Marvis is better than Apples music app because apples artwork is super small. Still I wish there was a way to adjust in settings so you can remove dead blank space below artwork in order to make artwork larger on the full player screen. I’ve been a Cesium C’s user for a few years or more but there latest update to version 6 made me look for a new music player app. I’ve been an Android user since 2013 and iOS 6 in my opinion had the best music player. I’m a big fan of large album artwork. I’ve created most of my library from LPs and created my own artwork from each LP cover. With every iOS Google has managed to shrink the album artwork more and more. Apples current player is a mess, stop the music and the artwork shrinks to tiny pic press play and it go slightly bigger but still small, so much wasted space on the player it doesn’t even reach to the top which makes it even smaller. So a few years ago I found Cesium and they kept your album artwork full screen up until their latest version 6 where now they are going the Google route and shrinking down the artwork and adding too much fluff like overlaying colors. So today I found this app and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for, happy they have kept your album artwork large and love that if you touch the album you can see it full screen on the player. Nice!! I also like the true black dark mode. I also like that the running time of the song does not create the album artwork to be smaller like Cesium does. I’m finding swipe, search and tabs at the top work great and this app allows so many options in settings to configure exactly how you want it to look and work. Kudos for the settings options. This app is well worth the cost of purchase and is so much more enjoyable to use than Apples default music app. Thanks again for keeping the album artwork large and offering to see it full size on the player. 5 Stars!!
Love this with WidgetPod - keeping screen active when playing makes CarPlay expand to an extra screen. Customizations are smart and functional. Well-done and an app I use daily.
It’s great for an iTunes music library and any Google Music users, makes many improvements on the stock app.
This is absolutely, hands-down the app that Google should have made. I get that Google does not like giving the user a ton of Customizing options, however; they really should purchases app and make it the stock app.
