1. Assessment B also counts 1 for each criterion that has 1 or more “Yes” response; but separates the criteria into Abuse and Dependence categories.

2. If answered “yes,” Alcohol Abuse is ruled out as a result, with the possibility of Alcohol Dependence if dependence criteria are currently met.

3. Assessment A includes 5 questions related to alcohol craving, and Assessment B includes 5 questions about alcohol-related legal problems.
