Radiologist gave files without DICOM extension--IM000001 instead of IM000001.dcm. They would not open in Finder although it worked OK in the app... Afterwards, all files could be viewed in the Finder--I used the Quick Look command in the drop-down contextual menu to scroll through the shots quickly. So you have to perform an extra preliminary step but it ultimately works well.
