The game kept crashing. Wouldn’t let me finish the bonus chapter. The entire game I was on edge because I didn’t know if me going into an area would cause it to crash and I’d have to close out and restart it. Seriously glitchy. Couldn’t even finish it. This should NOT be available for purchase with so many issues. Requesting a refund!
The game’s storyline and graphics are great but frustration happens because of it resetting and the selection of items are somewhat challenging
I got up to the “save the wolf” screen. I did but it won’t acknowledge it. So, I paid for a game that won’t let me finish.
This was a well done game. Very creative and great storyline for a HOP/Puzzle type game. There weren’t any HOP’s but puzzles and searching for inventory items to complete tasks were appropriate and fun. Nothing too tough but still made me think. I wish it would have been a little longer game play as I found it shorter than most BigFish Games. But it was a couple dollars cheaper too. All said I have no regrets and am happy I purchased it
I’ve been playing my way through countless Hidden-Object Adventure, Mystery, and Escape games for a few months now — often paying for full versions. I quite enjoyed Stormhill Mystery! As with any game, there are pros and cons. For starters, I appreciated the subtle, Lovecraftian undertone (with H.P.’s fictional monster, Cthulhu, making a small appearance hear and there). The visual design paired well with the game’s spooky nature — I am grateful for zoom ability in all scenes as the dark, eery, and sometimes hazy/dusty overlay might be difficult to navigate and search through otherwise. This is definitely a point-and-click adventure over anything else — compared to others in its genre, the mini-game aspect is minimal. That being said, I appreciate the difficulty of those included — I prefer to encounter a mini-game that takes me DAYS to solve vs. one I can solve in seconds. (Not to say any of them took that long, but you get what I mean.) The mini-games are ones you may have seen before, but challenging enough to perhaps render familiarity moot. And now for the part I don’t enjoy, but feel is ultimately necessary for the sake of other players and the game’s developers (maybe? 🤓😅 I’m tryin’ here.) The cons. Are minimal. Length of the game was kind of a bummer. I TOTALLY get that I paid $5 and should therefore get a $5 game — that being said, this is the first $5 game I’ve finished in 1 day 😔. Lastly, the useable items in the game were a little odd and random at times. In other words, you may find an item and have NO inclination as to what to do with it and/or you may find yourself throwing every item in your inventory at a zoomed scene just to see what sticks 😅 (did that a few times). Overall, I would say the game is worth the $5 for most. If you’re looking for numerous mini-games, lengthy gameplay, and less story, perhaps choose another. But if you appreciate a great story, creative design, and a game that requires more critical-thinking than the norm, I recommend Stormhill Mystery to you. I will likely be playing other titles from this developer and look forward to what else is in store. 📱🧩🕵🏻♀️
