Works well for my style of writing (lyrics with chords). However Iâve reached my limit, am trying to subscribe with a functioning credit card and says accepted but then keeps asking me to upgrade so I can add more songs. âBuggyâ doesnât begin to cover the frustration.
Iâve gone back and forth on a few different songwriting apps, each having nice features that others donât. Iâm currently back using Songhub 2, as Songhub started functioning inconsistently. What I would like to see now is the ability to change font size for the pdf - itâs too small!
This developer has a long history of making great songwriting apps. He wrote the gold standard which was SongWriter and followed it up with SongHub after SongWriter was bought by another developer. That developer didn't continue to develop the app so it has stagnated. Since songwriting is such a small niche market I am more than happy to pay a subscription if it keeps the app stable & updated in the marketplace. It takes money to develop and continue to update an app. This app does what it needs to do. It's a great place to store lyrics of songs you're writing or the songs of others that you cover. The songs print beautifully if you need copies for a choir or others to follow. So why 4 stars? Having used the previous two this app doesn't feel quite as cohesive as SongWriter which I still consider the gold albeit dated standard. I'm not a fan of the home screen as it takes longer to get into your music. I would like to see a more modern and intuitive UI. I am a fan of the syncing feature that syncs everything between Android & Mobile. It's not perfect but it's the best songwriting app on the app store.
When I signed up for this... I didnât know that I had to pay for a subscription and thank god I didnât.... I would strongly avoid this app if you donât wanna pay for a subscription.
