Number Shield for Android

I’ve subscribed to all of these call blocking services. Only Number Shield works 100%. Just love it.

I moved across the country and have an area code from where I originally lived for a short period of time. Whenever I got a call from that area code I knew it was a spam call. Downloading this app has prevented me getting multiple spam calls per day. Would give it 10 stars if possible.

I am an Android 14 user just in case that matters… I had been getting a ton of junk/auto dialed/collection calls plus others specifically from an area code where the caller has TONS of scrambled versions of their number apparently and I was at wits end when I found this app. This app has stopped my phone from ringing by simply allowing me to BLOCK that entire area code. You can do individual, prefixes or grouped blocks number blocking. I don’t know anyone in that city/state there so no loss to me. Just peace & quiet and the best part- NO NOTIFICATIONS of “missed calls” or empty 25+ second “voicemails”. I can always add someone to my contacts if they DO have that blocked area code and they’ll be able to get through fine. Reddit is a lifesaver- real people and real reviews led me to this app.

I've tried various robocall apps. Most of them require you entire omen number at a time. The problem is, as I have discovered, you can enter a number, but the software the robocalled use, will quickly use another similar number to avoid your blocked number and they'll call you again and again and again. In particular, I've had a lot of trouble with robocalls that originated with Texas or Washing DC phone numbers (I'm in CA). Using Number Shield's wild cards, I was able to quickly block all calls originating from these areas. I no longer have to deal with those annoying spam calls!

This was the first solid app I found that peacefully ended the torment of so-called neighbor spoofing robocalls. I get (got) 5-7 calls a day from numbers beginning with the same first 6 of 10 digits as my number. This app made it easy to block them and forget about it. Recently, iOS & this app updated to allow 50 million blocked numbers. So now I use this to block a couple entire area codes that spam calls predominantly come from for me. This was the best dollar I ever spent on the App Store. Edit 12/22 - been using this tool over 4 years now and it stops a lot of spam. Very flexible rule creation. Love this app.
