Game is ok for the price ($15.99). It provides a few hours of game play. I played all the old Professor Layton games and enjoyed the puzzles and dialogue. This one, not so much. The first case has the protagonist, Katrielle, eating and going shopping. The second, she is... wait for it.. DRESSING UP and going on a date with her assistant who is apparently hopelessly in love with her. It’s very patronizing. It’s possible to have a female protagonist without making her shallow. If she’s some rockstar private eye, maybe give her some freaking chops. The puzzles are kind of stupid and repetitive, and often poorly explained. The dialogue is long-winded and insubstantial. I often just click through it as fast as possible to get to another interactive portion. Collecting hint coins is basically just clicking around on the screen until something happens.
Only subtitles are. And what’s SK vs the other Katrielle Millionaires game by level-5?
It doesn’t let you skip most of the dialogue. I don’t care about your poorly written story; I just want to do puzzles!
