Daily POP Crossword Puzzles for Android

This app is an utter scam, for many reasons: 1. They lie — Years ago they claimed you could “buy” the app, but they soon got even greedier, flagged it that you had to update past the current version of iOS, and used that for even greater greed, to ignore the terms they agreed to to get your money, and further demand a NOW-MONTHLY fee from people who had already “BOUGHT” it 2. They apparently don’t bother to check their puzzles; for example, they recently had a crossword clue insisting that “Spades” was the game with shooting the moon (Spades is nothing like that; it’s only Hearts — a mistake that only someone who has never played either would make because the two games are nothing alike) 3. They have multiple ads that capture your device at random times, often three per puzzle, 3. The ads are also bait and switch; they take over your device for not only the 30 seconds they claim, but for random additional times after that (a few have a countdown, many don’t; not all of those with a countdown actually honor it) 4. The crossword app and/or its ads blast the sound to try to manipulate you into paying attention — do they really think people are so dumb that they are going to respond to abuse by signing up for more of it? 5. The app and/or its ads routinely blow past the physical device mute button and silent mode 6. Most of the ads don’t have a mute button, and at least one of the ones that does, just blasts the sound again a split second later every time you “mute” it (I don’t know what the ad is for because I refuse to pay attention, but it’s got a woman with bad skin and straggly brown hair worn in a “long”/single length style, puffy lips, and a particularly annoying voice whining at you loudly about something) 7. The app developers respond to complaints by telling you to update the app, while conveniently ignoring the fact that most problems are not in any way addressed by updating the app, 8. The app developers pretend to care about ads that violate terms, but they do not have a button to report it, let alone options to select for “violates mute button”, “violates do not disturb mode”, “violates claimed time”, “is obscene”, or “is a phish” 9. The very latest issue, the one which drove me here to share all of my experiences to warn anyone looking for a crossword app, is that now the developers have gone into phishing territory — For the past two days, in over forty attempts of waiting out the timer, choosing the daily puzzle, and waiting out the ad — the app literally will not let me do anything unless I agree to download what purports to be a free app for the Discovery card (at which point i quit the app). I don’t even gave a Discovery card! And I will not even click on “get” (the only offered escape; there is an X at the top right but it doesn’t do anything) because even if it is actually from Discovery, I am not going to agree to that app’s privacy and license agreements or give them permission them to track me (which agreeing to the app would do). Let me repeat — I don’t even have a Discovery card. And yes I have updated the app. And it did nothing to address any of the problems, as usual. Does anyone know if it’s against the terms of a developer’s agreement with the Google Store to violate the mute button, lie about their ad timeouts, and/or phish their users in this way?

Ads freeze daily.

Being interrupted 3 times when solving a puzzle is not a way to go through life. Also, why am I getting ads for apps I have installed already? At least show something new.

What happened to all my results for the last two years?

This is a great game and app but in the last 2 weeks there have been so many more ads while solving the puzzles. Thinking about finding another crossword app because if it.
