    • The good - The bad - The ugly

      So I have gotten a decent amount of work. And let me tell you I appreciate that wholeheartedly. But I don’t only run my business in one area. I run my business in multiple areas and I would love the opportunity to be able to accept jobs from multiple areas. I love being able to see what I’ve been paid for, how much, when the payment was processed, the history of the payments, and when I can expect it to be deposited in my business account. It’s always pretty quick unless you hit a holiday weekend. That’s where the good ends. The difficult things about Turno is that it doesn’t require the Airbnb owner to answer enough questions so that we can give a legitimate bid. Questions I ask: square footage, numbers of bedrooms/bathrooms but also how many does it sleep? How many beds are there to make including fold out couches and air mattresses? Is there an outside kitchen? Large/multiple seating areas and spaces outside that need to be cleaned? Have they turned the garage into a game room that needs to be cleaned? Do they allow pets and if so do we get paid extra for dealing with the pet hair? When was the last time that it was deep cleaned? Is this a new Airbnb and we need to do an initial clean on it or has another cleaner been keeping the project up? Are there 2 washers/dryers for bigger properties? Do they have backup linens? These all go to what an accurate bid is. I’ve walked into so many Airbnb‘s that either the owners or unreliable cleaners have been taken care of, and I walk into what’s needs a deep clean and the owners expect me to bring it up to par for the price quoted. I don’t think that’s fair or right or ethical. There’s also no way for me to charge the client more or less on a cleaning day. So if I walk into a place that’s had a party and I’m cleaning the place for $100 I’m gonna need more funds… So I should have the ability to request additional funds with a reason why on the app. Because then we’re left trying to figure out with the owner how to get the additional funds and it’s either creating a whole new ‘fake’ job for us to ‘start and complete’ to get paid. Or the owners just want to pay us from another payment app. Then there are roughly 8 or so other apps that are the most common for Airbnb owners to run their Airbnb‘s from and Turno is only compatible with. I think four of them. Lastly, reviews left from guests… We should be able as the cleaners to reply to a bad review. I once got a one star review simply because I could not fit her into my schedule. She was a new client. She wanted somebody to come like the next day. I was booked solid and I could not make those arrangements happen so she got on there and left me a one star. I got a second one star because my client asked my cleaner to take extra laundry to the laundromat to clean and my cleaner accidentally took his laundry soap home. That mistake got us a one star. So I don’t agree that we can’t respectfully respond if appropriate to bad reviews. Oh, and one more thing… The app is choppy. You have to go to multiple areas to find the information that you want. You should be able to look up information and different ways. For example: calendar view see all of your jobs. Customer view: see all of your customers and the jobs that they have Scheduled with you. Each job separately: so she should be able to click on the job itself Smith, Home… And see all of the Smith Home jobs scheduled on your calendar moving forward in the year. But no, you can’t do that you have to go to this page to find your customer you have to go to that page to see the conversation between you and the customer you have to go to the schedule to find this and it’s time consuming and irritating.
