Dride Yi for Android

Never got it to link to my Yi Compact. It just keeps doing the “connect to Yi camera” thing like the official Yi dashcam app. Now there is no way for me to download the video clips off the camera, other than to manually do it – remove the microSD card and stick it in a PC media reader. Frustrating!

The app works (sometimes) but when saving video to phone it shows a progress bar that goes to 130% while saying “loading stickers”. Once video is exported, there’s an advertisement bar at top directing you to store your video on the app’s free cloud. I specifically disabled watermark in the settings yet it still puts it into my video. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Should have done more research. This is NOT the “official” dash cam app for YI, it’s a third party site. The app is very unreliable. Tech support is pretty much non-existent. Accessing videos has been impossible. The app “sort of” worked for just one day, and afterwards the video clips would not be accessible anymore. The screen would just perpetually buffer. The dash cam was fine initially but without a reliable app to access videos (even the direct manufacturer’s site is a waste of time) the camera is useless. Save yourself a headache. Don’t by a YI dash cam, and don’t download this Dride app. Huge waste of money, time, and energy.

Great camera and loads to you’re phone

Is there an issue with using this app with a Yi Dash Cam after you change the wifi ssid name? I can't get it to connect.
