This app is justt perfect for me because I'm visually impaired and thanks to this app I can easily convert any pdf to audio in a couple of minutes. I'm a law student and this is one of my key tools .
I enjoy using tools like this for information retention. I have a bad memory and having it read out loud while reading along helps paint a better picture to the story. The voices could be made better, though. It sounds like a robot that reads in monotone which eventually becomes annoying. If that was updated/made better in some way. This app would be outstanding.
This app had been very helpful with research. Been able to focus on notes or other tasks with this reads any articles to me. My only complaint is that there isn't a web browser plugin to read webpage articles directly.
On the surface the app works great. But... I hit the link option and got this long error message in a floating box. And when I clicked "share" the app crashed altogether, and even gave me on of those big crash dialog boxes so I can alert Google what happened. This occurred 2x in a row and so I'm here writing this review. I just bought this application 7 minutes ago and these are my first experiences. It’s not immediately clear where to locate the Export Audio option - and that's really why I bought this app. After hunting around a tad I realized I need to right click on the file name to see this option. However, since it doesn't export to .mp3 it doesn't meet my needs on any level as this is a necessity for what I purchased this application to do. (That's not why I gave it 3 stars - although I do think it should be made clear somewhere that it only reads text and this audio cannot be exported.). Also, it would be a huge plus if I could edit the text I uploaded into the application. I have found a couple of spelling errors and I can’t edit it in the application itself. I need to edit the file and then re-upload it to the application. This application seems to only allow for export to .aiff or .mp4 . While I am appreciative it exports the audio, more export options would be preferred. Right now, as it stands, I would simply have to download in one of these formats and then I would have to take another step, with another application, to convert it into an .mp3 or .wav file. The app itself seems to have a solid body to it. It works. It reads the text. All but one of the American voices sound robotic and choppy but I think I saw an option to install more voices so I might check in on that soon. If you’re wondering if you should download this application to read your documents I would say it’s a good bet this application will do what you want it to do for you. If my friends or family asked about this application I would tell them it’s a good app to download as it’ll get the job done, it just has a couple of quirky flaws I’m sure the coders will get to fixing once they learn they’re there. Thank You to the developer(s) for this application. It is much appreciated.
This app has really helped in college to retain the information that I read. For some unseen reason, today the app just stopped working. Please fix!
