I get paid at different rates for different things and have to document what I’m doing within each category. Plus, I might be timing food prep at the same time or need a reminder to stop what I’m doing and move on to the next step. This app provides a simple, easy to use, uncluttered way to do all that. What I like best: I might have 6 different timers and stopwatches up simultaneously. With the app I used to use, this meant that I’d have 6 separate rectangular boxes open on my desktop. It could get hard to find the one I needed at any given moment, and my desktop was just a mess with all the other open documents. With Simple Stopwatch & Timer, all 6 run in one scrollable dropdown box. A scrollbar appears once a third timer or stopwatch is added. When the app is launched, a clock icon appears in my Android’s menubar next to the wifi icon. I click the icon when I need access, and then it all tucks away nicely as I work, hidden until I click on the icon again. Perfect! I also like that I can type long titles on each stopwatch or timer and not have to reset anything to change the title. This is super helpful because as I work, I can just add details to the title of the stopwatch for that work category. I have not yet found any limit to the number of characters I can type in there. See my previous paragraph? I just pasted the entire thing in as a stopwatch title. It took it, no problem. (Can’t see the whole thing at once, though, but that’s fine.) Feature I’d like to add: I wish there were some way to tell when I created each stopwatch. Sometimes I mess up and forget to pause one. If I knew what time I started it, it would be easier to guesstimate what the real time should be.
Just downloaded: It works perfectly. I set up 2 timers and everything is going well. The issues one rater mentioned is that the countdown time doesn’t appear in the top bar… well one click and you can check ALL the timers you have set. I especially Like how the timer can be labeled. If I had to pick one disappointment, is the maximim time is 99 hours. I would hope that a future upgrade will allow DAY’s would be added. Other than that, Excellent
I wouldn’t buy this. For starters the “Simple Stopwatch and Timer Support” link within the Google App interface DOESN’T even work. The Timer seems to work ok, but there is no drop-down menu, no right-click option for an alarm signal change; nothing. No menu interface to do ANYTHING with. Like at all. Also, by “All….in the status bar” I thought it meant that the timer/stopwatch would literally countdown THERE, IN THE STATUS BAR. Not so….you have to go and CLICK on it to see how much time you have left or how much time has elapsed. Not what I read or expected from the advertisement. In my opinion, it’s much TOO simplified.
This app does what it says and gets out of the way. Just timers and stopwatches and as many as I need whenever.
