Slowdive | Meditation & Mantra for Android

The first thing you get when you open the app for the first time is the requirement to sign up for a monthly subscription (currently $19.99). You cannot see any of the app without subscribing. Next you go through a series of questions in order for the app to suggest content for you. It doesn’t matter what you select, the same limited options result. There are no hypnosis features (as advertised), about 12 meditations, some breathing exercises and “mantras” that are just music. It also writes data to Google Health in increments like 1 second or in the middle of the night for hours. It is very very glitchy and doesn’t not offer what it claims.

Title says it. It does not allow you to preview the app without first paying a subscription. Why not let people try it for a bare minimum of 3 days (not even a week) and then that way, the user can make a better decision of how long to sub for Edit: fair enough devs! App is supposed to sync with your location/time so that it pays surprise and sunset ambient sounds accordingly. It does not. Almost all day it says sunset is in x amount of minutes… support email is useless. It’s too expensive to have these bugs. No new meditations have been added in A half a year and if you want to use it like me often, then you will need more variety. I think the concept was good but it seems like they shot for a one and done app. Needs upkeep and updating and that just not there.

I just got the app this morning, listened to one mantra. I paid for the years subscription and now every time I open it, it automatically closes. Can’t use it. I would like my money back!

At first I really liked it. It helped immensely in getting to sleep when I had too much on my mind. I paid for the year subscription. I was disappointed however on the selection of meditations as there is only 25 of them and they never added any or changed them throughout the year. I could tolerate that though cause what they did have got me to sleep. What I can not tolerate is when the guided meditations lost the background music. It’s been that way for months now and it just doesn’t work for me. I paid for soothing guided meditations with background music not some weird guy telling me to relax in complete silence. It’s creepy and I could have dealt with it if they would have fixed it but it has seriously been like Half the year that it has been like this. So I will not be renewing my subscription.
