Look, this app claims to teach you guitar. Sure, you’re going to learn the bare minimum of each topic. You’re going to learn about 5 of the 12 chords you should know in order to play basic music. They only teach you five. Every other app will teach you all of them because it is the most basic guitar skill, but not this one. Then, they’re going to throw you into more advanced topics and teach you part of that skill, just like how they only taught us part of the basic chords. Then even more advanced concepts without giving us a full grasp on any of the basic skills you need to play guitar. Extremely disappointing AND EXPENSIVE!!!
C’mon Gibson. I tried multiple headphones, restarted the tablet, plugged/unplugged all connections with my guitar interface. The other app I use has no static. What gives? You’re supposed to be better than this.
I have gone through every lesson on this app. If you are a beginner or early-intermediate player, it will definitely improve your skills. I highly recommend it. The AI is pretty good and will force you to improve before it lets you proceed. I find it way more motivating than reading tabs, watching YouTube videos or going to an instructor every week. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because for some of the faster, more complex songs, the app has trouble tracking your playing, at least for me, when I am using blue tooth headphones and my amplifier is turned on. I know I am playing most of the notes correctly but apparently the blue tooth/Mobile combination causes latency which makes the app think you’re not hitting the notes. To their credit, the Gibson app developers are very responsive on support. But the latency issue is significant for me because wearing corded headphones is very inconvenient when you’re trying to play a guitar with the Mobile in front of you.
I am very new to the guitar and after purchasing the membership I went to look for some songs that I’d wanted to learn to play and, to my dismay, there was not a single song that I’d wanted to learn. There were a songs that I knew of course but It was saddening to see the lack of songs in the app after spending my money on a membership
I’ve downloaded this app 10 times and it won’t work on my phone. No sound and it won’t advance beyond the intro. It’s a shame. I really want to use this app, it looks great.
