NanoStudio 2 for Android

Buy this if for no other reason than you get Obsidian built in (there’s no other way to get it and it’s not standalone). The rest of it is good too :)

This app is fantastic for creating music. The app never crashes and sounds great. AUv3 apps work very well in NanoStudio 2. Recording and editing MIDI notes is super intuitive and NS2 is clearly the best iOS app for that sort of work. Audio is easily recorded into the built-in Slate “drum machine” and the included multi-synthesis Obsidian synthesizer is also a full featured sampler so I find it easy to use the sounds of any iOS synth (even IAA synths) by recording the audio. Even samples from my hardware synths are easy to load into Obsidian or Slate so that my Mobile & Android are amazing music production environments. If you are creating music, you should have this app.

NanoStudio has one of the best workflows on iOS in my opinion. If you want to sketch out a song on a timeline, not just make a bunch of disconnected loops NanoStudio can help get you there. To those complaining about the lack of audio tracks, why would you buy the app in the first place knowing it doesn’t have that feature, then after having done that, write a review complaining? It’s like buying a motorcycle then writing a review complaining it only has 2 wheels. Buy a car in the first place. The drum sampler Slate has quite deep audio functionality so you can most certainly record, process, and sequence audio in NanoStudio (think of Slate as an MPC style sampler). This is not a true audio track, but if you’re using NanoStudio as a scratchpad Slate can get you pretty close.

I love using this DAW and the workflow of it, but one drawback for me is not being able to use keyboard shortcuts. You cannot even type labels for your channel names. Sometimes it would be nice to type "S" to split a track or space bar to play. Devs: Please make keyboard shortcuts for the basic functionality. Things like grid, zoom, draw, delete, split, join, and loop. Thank you for all the work put in to NanoStudio. I really like this app :)

First off I use NanoStudio to create all my beats.Nice design, great with MIDI editing a Powerful Synth, no AUDIO track cannot record your voice in this, no love for the vocalist.So close guys up your game. upgrade your sampler Add ghost notes in the piano role add a step sequencer, and throw in an option for Mastering .
