Worked like a charm - very easy to do!!
I received the emails, took the classes and this upgrade was pretty quick. I have not had any issues. I love the new ability to use my phone to read what's going on with my pump. It's defiately much easier to read during the night, while in the dark, than the pump screen. It's like I got a "large print" version of my pump!
I HATED this upgrade process. It took me over a week to upgrade my software after getting the prescription (really? a prescription for a software update?). First, I updated my address and then couldn't proceed for 4 days while iwatied for the Tandem team to "verify" or "submit" my new info. Then I had to go through two hours of training that I couldn't really internalize because my pump wasn't upgraded. Who has time to sit through two hours of training anyways? With my busy life it took me three days to get it done. And because my pump wasn't upgraded and I couldn't just follow along with a working pump, I'm going to have to go all the way through it again. Then, instead of just letting me upgrade after completing the training, I had to wait for an email with a code. Seriously? Why can't the system just provide me with a link to this app and a code as soon as I'm done? Again, more time wasted. So I spent the day checking my email to make sure I didn't miss the code. It finally came and I finally got things updated. The app itself runs smooth and was easy to use, but the process to upgrade is seriously backwards and SOOOO time consuming. Now I guess I'm off to redo the training (which doesn't let you skip parts that you might already know about or that are common sense) so I can actually set up my pump...sigh...
Very unhappy and wasted an entire day for nothing. First, it was very unfair of the "powers that be" to create an update which began with the mobile app. You might have let us bypass that and get to what really matters to those of us NOT using the mobile app. But, NO, we were forced to wait for MORE THAN fifty pages to load and finish before turning to the next page and the next, etc. After four (4) hours, I finally got to the part where I could actually plug in my Pump to start the download and due to the fact that some new Google computers have no USB input I was once again STUCK! I have a converter, but the Tandem website was not seeing that my Pump was plugged into my computer. An entire day wasted that I cannot get back and my Pump still is not updated. I have already spoken with Tandem's rep and my purpose here is to let you know that next update ought to begin with those important items that don't involve the mobile app so we can all start at the top and then a "go to end" prompt for those that don't need the mobile app. HOURS HOURS SAVED! Can you recommend a (physical person) Tandem Trainer in the Southeast Florida area for me to get help updating my Tandem Pump. Thank you.
I finished the first video lessons and passed the quiz. I have my ID email as well. I can't figure out what to to next. I've just switched to Tandem/Dexcom in May from long time MiniMed/Medtronic pump. Transition has been flawless dropping my A1c to 6.5 from 7.2. Impressed.
