The developers of the SteamWorld titles love to release a game with version 1.0 and never touch it again, and this game is no exception. Distracting black bars narrow the game experience as they have chosen not to update it beyond support for Android 8-sized screens. The game itself is lovely and a great deal of fun, but seeing the iOS status bar at all times and dealing with a lack of screen real estate means that this is objectively the worst version of the game you can buy at the moment.

I bought this game on the Switch, but for some reason I enjoy playing on iOS more. Would love to see controller support added!

poorly thought out design

two overtly punishing mechanics: losing all xp for dead characters and losing half your money for a failed mission. what a great idea! create a negative feedback loop by having longterm punishments for your players. some people just shouldn't design games. sad!
