I much prefer the previous version of the app. The font is too large and I have not found a way to reduce it.
This makes checking in easy and it is quick to check hours (gym and pool) and class schedules. I also like that I can add my visits in. It would be nice if child care hours were included too.
Today’s update broke the app on IOS.
I just joined the Y and they were eager to tell me about their “smartphone app”. I am not the least bit impressed: * The app was last updated a year ago and is still not updated for the new Android size classes, never mind the Android X * Barcode can’t be added to Wallet, which would make it much more convenient for scanning at the desk. * The app doesn’t integrate with Google Health, which would be a great feature, ie work out, scan that workout from the machine into the app, and have that populate into Health and Activity, but nope. On top of that, huge top-level importance is given to things that I will only ever use occasionally such as configuring third party apps, Deals (whatever that means—it didn’t actually contain anything when I tapped on it), a solicitation to donate (Who cares that I kicked in an extra $2 per month to the Y? They still want to take up precious screen real estate with this…), social media (Ugh), refer a friend, Extras (a grab bag of stuff they couldn’t figure out where to put I guess), My Profile (where a bunch of this junk should be hidden). And all of this top level junk is alongside a menu button where it would be better (not great but better) to list all this junk if it was a bullet point requirement that came out of some project planning meeting where no one was asked to actually try to use this app… I hope the developers are reading this and have plans to modernize and rethink this app. In its current form, it’s barely usable and does not respect the user’s time and attention.
The app is user friendly, easy to navigate and I love the convenience of being able to be scanned in to the Y.
