NewsON for Android

The NewsON app for AppleTV has been broken for months. I’ve emailed support…crickets. Useless!

The concept for this app is great. The design, however, leaves much to be desired. It almost seems like this was designed as part of a middle school project. Instead of using natural breaks to place commercials, they pop them in at random usually right in the middle of something important like a winter storm forecast or breaking news. additionally, the quality of playback leaves a lot to be desired. it skips, it freezes it jumps. It does everything but play smoothly.

Commercials are too loud. I have to turn down the sound, then have to turn it way back up for the program

This app is so far a success for me. I live near Denver so my news isn’t all too different when most of what I can access is Denver news. I hesitated a long time when reading Chromecast was not supported but I’m happy to report that it seems things have changed. No issues with buffering so far and even if that was a problem, it’s better than nothing. It’s just nice to see traffic and what’s going on in the area which always feels dated to watch on YouTube.
