I’m giving this 4 stars because after playing with it for a while it works very well… but… Dear developer: Decide if you want to create useful applications, or if you want to create an original, never-before-seen interface concept. The latter is almost never a good idea in software. There’s apparently no “undo” which is really a problem. This application also runs in a maximized window mode which takes over your whole screen and has very little in the way of instruction. That having been said… once you discover that you can draw on the screen in certain areas to increase the polygon resolution (something that really needed explanation btw) the app becomes very useful. With a little work you can get some great images out of this app. I just wish the dev had thought more about actual industrial use cases and less about creating a cool UI.
doesnt truly give you the opportunity to be creative, wiggle the pen around and it does it all for you. I tried getting my $ back immediately for this. better off with Adobe illustrator, for “Creating” Poly Art.
I bought this app to easily triangulate a photo I took to make an album cover. I wasn’t expecting much. I was very happy to find it exceeded my expectations and I use it about once a week now just to be creative and have fun with it. I love the filters and that I can manually change the triangles. A+ for that. I have three issues with it though. I don’t like that it forces you to use it in full scale mode. I also don’t like that it doesn’t have a menu bar. Another thing I don’t like is that I can’t select an individual triangle and change it’s color from what the program picked.
Actually, quite good at what it does. There is a wee bit of a learning curve, but once accomplished things really get interesting. I wish the app would not takeover the entire screen upon launching. The GUI is different with controls being at the four corners of the app. Filter results are stunning with a myriad of solutions (I enjoy the “connect the dots” filter). It will be interesitng to see what other apps this Developer produces in the future.
