iFunia Photo Slideshow for Android

I hate to give a negative review to an app whose developer was really trying to create something useful (I think), but this one’s got some pretty issues that just keep it from reaching that goal. It’s all about the productivity. Not only does the app’s lack of batch processing tools keep you from being productive or efficient by any definition of the word, by the time you get a slideshow put together, you’ve done so much dragging and dropping, you’re literally sick of your own photos. It’s sad really, I you start thinking of taking up another hobby. I’m not kidding. Well maybe I am a little but seriously if you have a lot of great shots, and you want to make a lot of great slideshows. This might not be the one to do it with. If you have time it’s okay. There’s about six transitions, and it may support gif, but it doesn’t play them. But I found no stability issues and I finished and burned one long slideshow and it works on everything I’ve tried it on.3stars

Save your money! So cumbersome to not be able to make multiple selections. You must add ever photo one at a time. You must add every transition one at a time. You can only change time length one at a time. This turns into hours of work when it should take minutes. Really do you want to waste your life away? Please update this application. I got things to do!

Although this program has great potential, I would like to see it expand further. When working with large quantities of photos (100+), I would like to set the transitional and photo speeds simultaneously for all, instead of one photo at a time. Also, transitional effects are limited (12). Please add more of a variety. Please address these concerns. Thank you.

DO NOT waste your money or time on this App. I spent HOURS working on a year of photos in review only to have my last 3 (of 7) hours of work magically disappear despite my carefully saving my work every 10-15 minutes.

Ok, let me start by saying that am an IT SR Director in sofware development for a fortune 12 company. Short version of this review is: I wasted $10, dont do the same as I did. Longer version: I spent 2 hours creating the perfect slideshow with 3 songs and 200 pictures. I went to export the file and it locked up losing all of my work. So this is going to raise a couple of quesitons in your mind: (1) did you save the work? Answer is no, so that part I own, but no app should lock up. period. (2) why did it take 2 hours? For two main reasons: (a) the user interface is very manual. You cannot apply effects to more than one slide at a time nor can you apply the same settings to more than one slide at a time such as period of time per slide or effect. (b) There is no preset way to sort your slides….like perhaps the simplest by date and time. unreal. After recreating part of the slideshow again and it locking up 3 more times, I have quit. Now I’m finding iPhoto’s slideshow to be good enough. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!
