Trenches II for Android

It’s been a fun game for years but when you play the campaign you are constantly bombarded by enemy artillery the whole time which ruins the game

I have fond memories of trenches I and was actually looking to get it on a new phone but couldn’t find it anymore and got this instead. This game makes me so mad it’s not worth it. The AI isn’t better than a human by any means, but it’s insanely hard to defeat. First, the unfair monetary advantage. Second, it spams artillery which requires you to have amazing micro, which is difficult just by the mechanics of the game not being great. Lastly, and most importantly YOURE UNITS DONT FREAKING LISTEN TO YOU. If a unit is in combat, it will ignore any command you give it aside from a general all-army retreat. This does things like: not let your units take one step forward to get into a trench or behind cover, causing them to lose an easily winnable fight, or cause them to stand right in the path of otherwise easily dodge-able artillery. Also sometimes the map gen is just abysmal. I just got done winning a campaign mission that took almost two hours because there were multiple positions that you had to advance through open terrain into fortified positions and there simply was no choice. It really seems that time efficient victories are only achievable if you use a small subset of op units cough *spies* cough, and that fact can never underly a quality game. If you want to play multiplayer only or get a brief bit of nostalgia it’s ok enough, but if you like playing the trench series for the campaigns, don’t bother unless you like repetitively cheesing with a single strategy or throwing real money into the perks system.

I used to play this game with my brother all the time, however coming back to it I noticed that the AI just spams artillery and makes it almost impossible to play unless I grind it with the most boring tactics

Campaign is all fun at first but even on easy mode the AI becomes OP even though I have max perks. AI is able to send more units and air attacks than the player and much quicker as well. Also units don’t always respond when telling them to move out of the way of an incoming air attack and maps are so long already that it makes you take entirely too long to beat for the game to be enjoyable.

This game and its devs clearly only care about cash grab, they released the same game on the store 3 times some how and in game it’s clear the enemy makes money at a crazy rate in comparison to you making the game far more difficult making you want to spend real money (which is a thing you can do in game) to keep up, not to mention the Ai is not intelligent it doesn’t attack in mass or defend all it does is buy a unit when it can and most of the time send it forward one at a time ( is this is kinda contradictory to my last point saying the game is difficult but believe me it still “functions” annoyingly) I left two stars because I’ve had this for a while and liked it a bit but practically, the games no good
