I do most of my pruchasing on here or amazon kindle app so I have something to compare to. My only complaint is that a lot of manga double pages are split down the middle but I think that has to do with how they are scanned and might not be the fault of bookwalker, not sure. I really like the coin system especially when there are coinback sales on everything. I always make bulk purchases lol especially cause theres no international fee charge for purchases made from coins, I can still get more coins from purchases made with coins, and they remain for 6 months so I can use them for random releases too. To date the books ive bought average to about $4 each thanks to their coin system. I think the manga are high quality images cause they take way longer to download but I could be wrong lol. No complaints about the light novels since I haven’t had any major issues that makes anything unreadable aside from a random grammar typo but I don’t think thats on bookwalker lol and any noticeable book errors are fixed pretty quickly. Overall I would give the app a 4.95 out of 5.
I absolutely love the selection of LNs and manga available, having almost 300 books in my account at time of writing, but there is one problem preventing me from giving it a five-star rating. That is, the app crashes constantly when trying to open, and I sometimes spend minutes fruitlessly trying to open it and restarting my phone to get it to work. If the crash issue were resolved, I’d be willing to amend my rating to 5*.
I prefer using the android app due to the ability to disable autorotate In the app and to turn pages with the volume buttons but this version is still usable
Radio dramas cannot be executed in the background, so stupid
The “store” page of the app just tells me to go the browser version of the store, so I apparently have to buy through the browser and then pull the app back up to read. The loading times in the app are also long and tedious, even for just switching tabs. I don’t know what the other versions are like, but the Mobile version is near unusable. Also, books are not DRM free. Always a negative in my book. Anyway, I will happily update my review if they fix any of these features because bookwalker as a service is pretty decent.
