So I got this app on sale and thought it might have a few more bells and wistles than Max or XLD (both amazing audio converters check them out!) - if hardly has any settings. Codec, bitrate, sampling, and audio channels are about it. Being that Music Converter had less control I shrugged and forgot I even had the application until today when someone handed me an .oga file for a video production I'm doing. OGA?! What the duece is an oga? Turns out it is ogg vorbis audio and to my great horror no other program on the Android (Quicktime, Fission, Max, or XLD) could convert it to a usable format. Music Converter did convert it with no problems. The only downside to this program is it did not identify it could read and save .oga files in the finder. It isn't one of the choices in the contextual menu for the application and only through me manually dragging the oga file into the application did it add it into the queue. All in all I'm happy I have this on my computer, but will still proabably use other programs with finer control over encodings for most things.
I like it, it works good.
I have tried converting a song purchased through iTunes, m4p format, to aac, mp3 and flac formats with no succcess. Oops! My mistake.... it doesn't convert DRM protected files. I was able to successfully convert m4a files to mp3, flac, etc. So changing the rating to 4 stars.
