Easy to use!

I joined one group in 2019 and am getting back into trying more groups now that Covid is less… whatever it is now. 😉 This app makes it easy to connect with others and I’m going to recommend it to my daughter & her hubby.

Used to be great…

…but MeetUp is now ripe for a competitor to come in and displace it like MySpace of old. $100 a year to host a group -and- ads all over the place (including ***4*** after RSVPing to an event just now)? Methinks not — it’s not worth being on the app when Facebook and Nextdoor do the same things for free — at least ads without the $100 a year. I know MU isn’t a charity, but they’re also not the only game in town and their value prop is dropping rapidly compared to others in the same space.

Terrible

App now has ads. And if you unsubscribe from emails from groups you STILL get spammed. I COMPLETELY unsubscribed from emails from one of my groups and STILL get 5-10 emails a week just from that group. I’ve resorted to reporting them as spam.
