It continues to grow buggy and glitchy. The app continually frees and has constant hang ups while annotating, itās very frustrating. Iāve had this app for years and years.
I can't believe I am only finding out about this app in 2022. Seriously! Why have I been reading scores in Safari for years?? This app, when you buy it, your soul will healed. You'll realize how silly it was that you were always worried about scrolling your score in position, or making sure the Mobile doesn't lock. Or annotating your fingerings just right without modifying the PDF... I can't believe I did not know about this, but 22k people already had. I am a computer scientist, an early adopter āĀ and I missed this?!
Recently Iāve experienced a bug with the Google Pencil that seems to happen in particular when Iām using split window view with the YouTube app (for example, when Iām transcribing a solo). When I exit āeditā mode, the most recent changes Iāve notated will disappear until I use my pencil again to engaged āeditā mode ā then the changes re-appear. However every time I exit āeditā the annotations disappear, and if I kill and restart the app, the changes are completely gone ā meaning my recent work is gone forever. Please fix this! Generally really a reliable app that I highly recommend.
Each time I use my lips to point left and right and the page just turns to reveal the next section of music, I get a wonderful satisfying feeling. One, that I was smart enough to part with my measly $10 per year to activate this feature. Two, that I live in a technologically advanced period of time where cameras on your sheet music display device have become smart enough to know when I need to see the next part of the score. Finally last but not the least, I get that satisfying feeling of not having to break my rhythm with a need to move my hands and fumble with my fingers in order to grab a uncooperative piece of music score. As a amateur pianist, I donāt often perform outdoors or in front of a fan that would blow away a normal piece of music. As a new forScore user, I have not converted even the smallest amount of my gigantic collection of paper scores to digital form. But from those that have been converted, I am sold on the idea that this is definitely the way to go! The only insignificant peculiarity that Iāve encountered, is that unlike the developer claims, it really is not possible to import into forScore any Google Pages documents containing scanned images of the score. The result is nearly unreadable and definitely unusable. First convert to PDF. Then, it works like a champ.
Great app! Very handy if you use sheet music, or any charts or lead sheets, or even just lyric sheets, as long as theyāre saved as PDFs. ForScore is a dream for anything you have in PDF files, PERIOD!! I use MusicNotes.com and save all my music to PDFs in iCloud. ForScore can be set to Auto-sync with iCloud. This is fantastic because I can get music from my Android and save it to iCloud. Then the next time Iām on my Mobile, I just Import the new music into ForScore. Now itās available to every device I have ForScore on. ForScore thinks like a musician and includes being able to set up links between various places and pages in the music. If you play an instrument, youāll quickly discover that a 2-button page turner limits you and doesnāt free up your hands for only playing your instrument, as you expected. I use a 4-button PageFlip Dragonfly page turner with ForScore everyday and I highly recommend it, or, at least a 4-button page turner device! With the extra 2-buttons I jump between Coda symbols, repeat marks, and quickly jump back to page 1. Thank you ForScore developers for making my daily piano practice so much more productive and enjoyable!!
