I’ve been a fan of Hungry Hearts (and the candy store games) for awhile now and had played all the ones I could find. This new addition doesn’t disappoint! The relaxing but engaging mechanics are the same and the wounding and interesting story lines are so much fun to play through! I love the delivery feature!! What a twist at the end! This game is highly recommended for anyone who has a heart. *Spoiler alert* I love how they crossed Subaru from the candy store in! And I’m incredibly sad that both grannys are basically confirmed dead 🥺🥺🥺 I really really love Granny! I think it would have been interesting to see how she would respond to the new technology of smart phones and apps haha. So much love for this game and all its characters. Thank you developers!!!
I’ve really enjoyed the Hungry Hearts series, so I was happy to see another game had been released. There’s a few returning customers, and plenty of new faces, and it’s fun hearing all of their stories. The new delivery mechanic felt like a welcome addition as well, and was a nice twist on the formula. The art and character sprites look lovely as always, and it was overall a great time getting to spend time with these characters.
Huge fan of this series with very human stories. Interesting new delivery quests. Wish there were less popup ads, but fair enough, developers got to make money.
I can’t begin to tell you how excited I was when I heard that HHD would have a second sequel. The series just keeps getting better with each new game, and this one certainly didn’t disappoint in my opinion! If there’s one thing about GageX’s games in general that I love the most, it’s their storytelling. They have a way of keeping me really invested and wanting to find out what happened with all the characters in the story. To see Sue, or rather Subaru, the granddaughter of the candy shop owner from the first Showa Candy Shop game was completely unexpected (though I eventually figured out it was her along the way). In this game, we get to see that part of her life where she was struggling after her own grandmother’s death that wasn’t shown/talked about in the game she originally came from, and how she eventually overcame that. It’s nice to know that the HHD grandmother helped played a part in getting Sue on the right track. Gameplay-wise, same as always, but at least it’s a tad easier to get dishes washed with Sue around (unless she’s delivering, but that usually doesn’t take too long, especially after an upgrade). It’s also a huge relief that you don’t get penalized for ignoring an order for delivery if you haven’t unlocked a certain food the customer is asking for yet. There were still a few parts of the story that I wish to learn more about and wished more characters from the previous games had made an appearance here, but I’m overall satisfied and just loved the story so much. This seems like it’s now the end of the HHD trilogy, but I’m glad we got to see Grandma and Co. for the last time. Thank you again for such a great game! It was definitely worth playing~
