Macrostax for Android

Couldn't even get through sign-up. There's no way to get to the dashboard without paying yearly or monthly. Please don't waste your time.

I had this app about a year or so ago and loved it. I just re downloaded it and was very disappointed to see the “fill my macros” function is no longer available. I loved that function. Please bring it back! Without that function, this is just a normal calorie counting app…not worth the $$.

I used to use this two years ago and had good results so I wanted to started a new subscription. I found out (too late) that they removed the autofill function which would give you options on what to eat based on the calories and macros you had left. Now it is basically a meal tracker with recipes that you need to search and calculate on your own. They removed the one function that made this worth it and I don’t know how you can justify the cost anymore. You can get meal trackers for free and Eat this Much is much better with automated meal plan and recipes.

You can’t see the functionality of the app until you pay. It was missing the simple ability to set my own macros. I paid for the one year membership never expecting it to be missing such a simple function. I immediately contacted customer service and asked for a refund… They said I had to do it through the app instead of through an email and now they won’t respond. Make sure this is the app you want before you give them any money… I feel like it’s lacking major features.

It uses manipulative marketing techniques to seem as if it's free. I saw another review with a response saying that "they never market themselves as free". While this is true, that doesn't mean they're off the hook. I had to DIG through the website and app store to find mention of pricing. It's not in the thumbnails, initial description, or even as a listed price. This app makes you fill out an entire account just to hit the paywall and have a useless app on your phone. Don't waste your time and use MyFitness Pal instead. It also has big paywalls but at least it's mostly free.
