Sudoku & Variants for Android

To me, this is the best sudoku app but all my data is on my old android phone, which the cloud save does not seem to be able to port over to Android. Allowing me to sign in to my gmail based account would make this app perfect.

This really is a great sudoku app. Hundreds of puzzles at each difficulty level and endless combinations of variants. I have no idea how they produce so many puzzles, all of which seem carefully designed, not computer generated. The solving interface is top-notch with various tools to help you. Well worth the lifetime purchase price. If you like sudoku you cannot go wrong with this app.

This sudoku app is by far the best one and the controls are very intuitive. I have found that the extreme classic sudokus take no more than 6-10 mins to complete, and I would love an even higher difficulty. The diabolical puzzles that are released on special occasions are exactly what I’d want. My main request would be to add a section that lets you create a sudoku puzzle. There is a solver that can only solve classic sudokus, but I’m referring to a creation area that lets users make puzzles with any rule set they want. You could even allow for publishing where people can try out others’ puzzles. My only other suggestion would be to allow the highlighting of pencil marked numbers. When using hints, there will sometimes be highlighted pencil marks, like for the 3D Medusa, that would be much easier to find as a solver if I could highlight individual numbers myself. I currently have a work-around that involves highlighting a cell with a color I have designated a number to, which works, but is much less intuitive. 3D medusas and some of the other more complicated strategies are almost impossible to see without a feature like this. Overall this game is amazing, and these suggestions are only minor improvements to the nearly perfect app you have created. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Great App!

I do love this app, but they keep changing the UI and I miss the old version. Let us pick how we want our pencil marks to show up.

The game is enjoyable in that there are quite a few variants of Sudoku, and I love all the features, but there are MANY issues. As one simple example, on board 14 I got down to cells D1,D2 & I1,I2 each having 5 & 7 as potential solutions. There are no variant or standard rules that help answer which should be which. Sudoku’s general rules require that no board have more than one possible solution, but MANY of the Logic-Wiz boards have this problem. Another problem with this app is that the solver/helper (light bulb) defaults to “hidden single” most of the time when you click on it for help on a board. That wouldn’t be a problem if it really were true each time you used it. Unfortunately, the app just uses that to tell you the solution to a cell when it doesn’t know what else to do even when “hidden single” isn’t a possible solution for a particular cell!
