COVID Alert NJ for Android

I have been using this app and tested positive. There’s no way to add the “six digit code” to inform my close contacts. I called my county health department and they told me “the state won’t allow us to do it anymore.” How is one supposed to get a positive case reported? Who do we contact? Where are the contact tracers? If you can’t inform close contacts, it’s pretty much useless. This could have been an excellent tool but it was squandered.

I got an alert of exposure a week after the alleged exposure. What good is that? It told me the day but nothing more. On that day, I was in another state and outside most of the day. It would be helpful to narrow it down. If I were outside, I would think the exposure risk was far lower. Honestly, how useless is this information?

Recently this app has become very inconsistent with reporting data, such as today May 28, 2022 the app indicates there are a total of “zero” cumulative cases since the pandemic started.

I was exposed in March, but I never received a push notification and had to randomly find the exposure in the app. The notification might have come through during a Do-Not-Disturb period. If so, it should have continued to notify me instead of being buried in the notifications. m

Tested positive on Feb 28th. Never got code, call, or anything to be able to report in app to other app users that where near me. What’s the point of using this app if you can’t report your positive. Defeats the whole purpose. Nice on paper and context but really useless.
