It’s as good as everybody says.

I’ll make this clear: I have no nostalgia towards this game. As a teenager, I was infinitely more attached to FF4 than I was to this game. Now that I’m an adult, playing through this game has been an absolute pleasure. FF4 has been dethroned, and then some. Considering all the high praise this game has gotten from countless other reviewers, there’s not much else I can say that hasn’t already been said. This game is great. It’s got its flaws, sure, but so does every other ‘flawed masterpiece’ that’s ever come out. The World of Ruin is a bit unfocused, and it’s where the game’s pacing kinda just fizzles out. The game’s battle system is VERY easy to break (magic OP) and not all of the characters are equally well written. Regardless, this game is pretty much ageless. If you’re a Final Fantasy fan at all whatsoever and you haven’t played this game, please do so. It’s as good as people say it is.
