Beautiful, fun, and laggy

There is no question the game is absolutely gorgeous, both while exploring and during combat. The cartoon feel is well done and faithful to the comic book, a real pleasure to look at! This cartoon feel also is the reason I am so disappointed in the performances of this game: while beautiful, the graphics are nowhere close to complex, yet the game feels laggy on a maxxed out late 2016 MBP. Given the overwhelmingly positive ratings of the game on Steam, I really was expecting a much smoother experience. Hopefully the problem is only a patch away from getting fixed?
