Is there a way to print chord pictures under/over the chords names?

As a singer, I’ve always said that my greatest musical instrument was my ear: and this app definitely allows me to show and prove! The depth of chord progressions on this app is amazing. Additionally, I love the ability to “break the mold” with borrowing chords and modifying the root/bass. Furthermore, the fact that you can write in 4/4, ¾, ⅝, 6/8, and ⅞ time signatures is stupendous. If I could make any recommendations, I’d say further customization of inversions and the ability to have up to 8 notes per measure. If I have any sort of complicated rhythm, I currently have to double the tempo to create the rhythms I’d like in the song. Other than that, this app is PERFECTION. It works great for translating my wishes to instrumentalists in rehearsals so they can hear what I hear and we can more easily sync.

Not really intuitive, bit chunky. Functions aren’t that straightforward either. Putting together a progression with this app is more effort than plain fun.

It’s funny, I usually look on the web when looking for theory or shopping for posters on theory. Sometimes I forget that apps are growing and getting better and better everyday. Especially when you learn file sharing and know how these apps can help develop your music production skills. The hard work these developers do is much appreciated by people who love music and want to learn. Shoutout to all the music app developers, we appreciate you!!!!! Make the app midi compatible please! I’d love to connect my midi keyboards with my Google adapter for some real fluidity and even better learning! I’d even pay for that upgrade!

I know this is intended more as a helpful tool for those closer to the beginning of learning music, but that’s honesty why it’s more of a problem. More later, but where is the dominant 7b5 chord? Like G B Db F. This is all over many types of music, including it’s enharmonic French augmented 6th equivalent. The stacked tritones create boatloads of awesome tension which is why you at least used to see it in pop music all the time. I paid for this app to have a quick little tool to try out some interesting harmonies and jot down ideas, but I wish I hadn’t. First of all, I started in a minor. I wanted the g#dim leading tone chord, selected this from the borrowed section, and found an Ab dim chord. Spelling matters! A flattened note created downward tension, while a sharpened one creates upward tension. This is confusing to beginners who are trying to learn theory, and even worse if someone made a lead sheet and took it to anyone more experienced to play. They’d be confused and not really get the harmony and what to do with it. Different spellings of chords and notes have very different connotations, resolutions, and feel in various melodies. Theory is about describing and articulating these things, not right and wrong. Handicapping the spelling handicaps the ability to describe and communicate music. After becoming frustrated, I purchased the additional scales add on. This doesn’t actually add anything as far as chords or spelling. It just changes the menu options, and some places like the melodic minor, where you can find a dom7b5 or g#dim naturally, don’t have them available. Former doesn’t exist, latter still shows as Abdim. Some of the expanded scales just have wrong chords because of this. The app advertises “custom chords,” but you cannot add a custom chord. You can select a few flavor/color options, but nowhere can you say “I want this note, that note, and that note.” This wouldn’t be a problem if many common fascinating and wonderful chord varieties weren’t just missing. Rolling Stones’ gimme shelter opens with a c#sus24… unavailable. Where is a b9? Where is a #11? I get it’s basic. I get it’s beginner. No dom7b5 though? No correct spelling? No real ability to make a “custom chord” or add or remove a note? Do not use this for serious writing, or even for learning. You will pick up some bad habits that will confuse other musicians and set you up for failure if you ever take a formal music theory course.
