Perfect for the family

Perfect for the family, same user interface on TV, iDevice, and Android. Price appears to be fair. Little upgrades like HD and Jugendschutz appears annoying. Customer service is responsive. There are free apps such as MediathekView which are a bit more organized, however, I love the Netflix-like user interface of TV Pro Mediathek, which is so simple to use for anyone. It is like using an old-style TV. My children love it, and I love my family to pick-up German skills.

Beautiful App with frustrating in-app purchase “offers"

While I find the user interface industry-leading I believed that the $12.99 “full app” would have included the removal of age-restrictions (without which the app is severely crippled) and download option. Considering that there are free options for what this app does (albeit not as beautifully designed), the price of $12.99 is already high and should include these options (one of which is almost a requirement, as so much programming - especially in my native Germany - is age-restricted), paying a total price of almost $24 is too much, by far, in my opinion. I had already purchased the full Universal version of this for $26.99 and being (more than) nickled-and-dimed - if not to say gouged - for another $11, was disappointing. If it weren’t for this choice on the developers’ part, it’d be a five-star app. Otherwise a truly well-designed App that covers media options not covered by the lies of Netflix, Amazon and Hulu…the best of TV programming in a neat library with a very effient and well-designed user interface.
