Lyft Driver for Android

From Philadelphia. Don’t make my mistakes. Do not think you’re going to make a livable wage with this. This is for extra money only, and even that isn’t worth it. I bought a new car specifically to do this and cannot afford it. I don’t know what to do. It’s a sad, pathetic, shame. “Incentives” have disappeared and been replaced with a horrible “points” system. Why they put money into these ridiculous “tiers” with absolutely no financial incentive is unheard of. Who wants “points”?! It’s insulting. Any streak bonus is useless because they spread rides out so far apart that by the time you’ve finished the streak, you’re still earning the same you would have without it. You may get back-to-back rides with no bonus, but once that bonus time begins, you’ll be waiting 20-30min for a ride. There are also zero challenge bonuses anymore. I’ve seen more Uber drivers on the road and this is probably why. With gas prices and inflation this is completely not worth it. Earning are falling between $5-15/hour. With gas prices well over $5, earnings may even fall below $0. There is no “fuel surcharge” or anything going to drivers. I spend over $50 for a night of driving and don’t see any of that back from earnings. It’s horrible. Streak bonuses are even worse. I have missed entire streaks due to lack of trips. There’s no reason I shouldn’t be getting rides in a city like Philadelphia. Anyone claiming to be making money hasn’t been doing it long. I’ve made some bad decisions in my life, but this is by far the worst decision I’ve made in a long time.

1.App doesn’t not allow you to go where there are surges so sometimes you have to drive around to find rides which wastes more gas. 2.The app glitches often 3. I wish the app would tell me If locations were companies instead of just addresses

The directions are often inaccurate. App will say turn left or that your location is on the left and when you look it’s actually on the right or you need to turn right. Directions switch up at the last minute. I’ve even had someone from the app call a passenger telling them we were going in the wrong direction and we absolutely were not! Both the passenger and I confirmed this. That’s dangerous to be putting your drivers at risk by lying like that.

I don't understand, the travel time of the passenger is 4 minutes, and lyft requires the driver to drive 20 miles to pick up! This kind of itinerary allows the driver to provide good service without even earning gas money.

App doesn’t support Google Maps and CarPlay, which makes it very inconvenient to use. And payment in LA area is ridiculous, I can make twice more on food delivery with less mileages.
