Using a gear sport (about 5 years old) since galaxy watch 4 doesn't connect to Android. Only issue is that I have to manually connect to the phone every day.

App will not progress past the initial pairing stage.

I recently got a Samsung gear s2 watch and downloaded this app today to pair it to my Android XR. It detects the watch with noproblem, and pairs to it, however, as soon as it pairs it immediately returns me to the scan for nearby devices page instead of progressing to the next stage of setup. This in turn leaves the watch stuck in “setting up” until the app is closed at which point it says there was a connection error. I have been trying to get it to work all day, I even left it alone for 4 whole hours hoping that maybe it’s just very slowly sending data to the watch…
